Membership Eligibility

To join The American Legion at Post 186, you must have served at least one day of federal active duty in the United States Armed Forces since December 7, 1941, and have been honorably discharged or are still serving. This includes all current active-duty military personnel. Additionally, U.S. Merchant Marine members who served between December 7, 1941, and December 31, 1946, are eligible.

If you’re an eligible Veteran interested in becoming a member, the process is straightforward:

1. Submit the online application form.

2. Provide a copy of your DD214 or other proof of honorable service.

3. Upon approval, pay the $50 annual membership dues.
